WHAT IS THE PURPOSE OF THE VOCATIONAL ASSESSMENT? Our assessment program is designed to assist you to better understand your job skills, abilities, personal strengths and interests. This knowledge will allow you to explore currently available jobs in order to make realistic and attainable career decisions.
WHAT WILL I DO DURING VOCATIONAL ASSESSMENT? During the assessment you will complete questionnaires, interest inventories and tests to identify your: . Interests in different jobs . Reading and math levels . Work skills You will be able to explore job information and will have career guidance to help you match your skills and abilities to jobs.
WHAT WILL THESE ASSESSMENT ACTIVITIES DO FOR ME? These assessment activities could help you: . Learn more about the job market . Learn how your language, math and job skills relate to your job goals . Better understand your career ladder
HOW CAN I GET THE MOST FROM THE PROGRAM? . Arrive on time and plan on staying until the scheduled end of the day . Have an open mind towards your vocational future . Come ready to focus on your future and to apply yourself . Make any necessary arrangements so that you can focus on the assessment . Bring personal items that you may require such as medications and glasses . Bring a copy of your resume and copies of any training certificates
WHAT HAPPENS AFTER THE VOCATIONAL ASSESSMENT? You will meet with your case manager or social worker to review vocational options identified as being realistic and attainable, and to select the most appropriate option in light of the training and/or other services available.
