Experience

Founded in 1984, Foster Assessment Center & Testing Service, Inc., (FACTS) has since grown to be the largest vocational evaluation and assessment provider for both the private sector and for the California State Department of Rehabilitation.   Assessments range from one day to ten days and focus not only on basic skills but also determine learning style, physical tolerances, aptitudes, skills, worker traits, as well as ability to return to work. FACTS assessors are highly experienced in serving individuals with learning disabilities or physical handicaps.

For over 20 years, FACTS' assessors have provided assessment services for welfare recipients through the CalWORKs/GAIN program. To date, FACTS has conducted over 60,000 vocational and career assessments and learning disability evaluations for CalWORKs in Kern, Los Angeles, Orange, San Bernardino, San Diego, and Ventura Counties. FACTS' assessors have also conducted thousands of vocational and career assessments for At-Risk Youth and for individuals on General Relief for social services agencies throughout Southern California.

FACTS conducts more Workforce Investment Act (WIA) assessments than any other provider in California. FACTS assessors conduct vocational assessments at multiple One-Stops for WIA participants for a number of Workforce Investment Boards. The Department of Veterans Affairs also contracts with FACTS to evaluate hundreds of disabled veterans each year.

FACTS has grown to provide assessment services at over 60 cities throughout California through our seven CARF accredited assessment centers. To date, FACTS has provided assessment services for over 200,000 individuals.

Our staff is highly qualified and experienced, as we have largest number of Certified Vocational Evaluation Specialists (CVE) of any company or agency staff within California. CVE status is a nationally recognized certification which can only be achieved after passing a written examination, four years work experience in the field, as well as a four year college degree or Masters Degree with required coursework in testing/career guidance.
